Asteca Estructuras Inc. is a company that designs, calculates, manufactures and assembles metallic structures.

Asteca is spezialized in space trusses designed with the NUCLOS structural system.

This system consist of steel tubes and spheres.

The spheres have a big stiffness and threaded holes arranged in the diferent directions of the bars. These holes are made in machining centers specifically prepared for this type of work.

Each bar consists of a cylindrical tube and two connecting elements to tie the bar to the holes of the spheres. The connecting elements, also called terminals, are welded to the cylindrical tube in a semi-robotic welding process approved by ASME.

The design of structures is performed in accordance with the specifications of architects, engineers and construction companies.

The space structures are assembled at the construction site, but the most delicate processes, such as welding, are performed at our workshops, getting a high quality control.

Another great advantage of being a product that is assembled on site without welding, is that the surface finishes are carried out in a paint line.

The finish of the bars is usually electrostatic polyester powder paint baked in oven, although in some cases tend to offer alternative treatments due to special conditions of use.

For outdoor structures or under harsh environments, different treatments may apply: from a zinc-rich paint to a metallization process with a subsequent application of finish paint.

The assembly of the structures is done by assembling the rods and spheres by tightening screws. This assembly is usually done on the floor, which has clear advantages in terms of work safety. After assembly, the structure is raised by cranes and placed in the final position.
